Mosscake
2 cups sugar
1 cup butterplant cream
3 cups scraped moss
2 cups flour

Directions:

Combine all of the ingredients together in a bowl. Stir repeatedly. if your moss Grak is well trained, you can get it to help you with the stirring. Bake in a sap oven until the moss pops. Don't leave the cake unattended near your Grak.

Tips:

Suppress the urge to cook the Grak WITH the moss cake. For one, the Elf owner usually gets mad and two, those horns aren't just for decoration.

Sunlight... at last!

Graks are a strange combination of herd animal and tree dwelling creature. The elves say that they weren't born to the trees, they just took to them. Stories say that they used to dwell on the floor of Elevere forest before the elves climbed into the canopy, taking their graks with them. Some say those stories are a myth. Of course, some say the forest floor is a myth....

One way or another, graks serve as slow-moving beasts of burden for canopy elves, working their farms and pulling their carts along the great branch trade routes that run throughout Elevere.

Graks > Skuzzies

I had a pair of graks yoked to the cart, making good time down the Tangleway, like always, when they just bolted. Scared me to death. See, one thing about graks is that they're slow, but they're reliable. They'll get you where you want to go, so long as you're not in a hurry.

Well, all of a sudden they were in a hurry, and the wagon was half jumping off the road from the jostling. I couldn't figure what spooked them, until I saw the first skuzzy. It dropped down from the canopy like a monkey with murder in his eyes - for about a second, until he was more like a monkey run down by a pair of angry graks and a bouncing wagon. Which, at that point, is pretty much what he was....
